With a hair dryer, you can conjure up volume in your hair in no time at all.
Voluminous hair is probably what everyone wants. Unfortunately, not everyone is naturally blessed with it. With the right blow-drying technique, it can help. Here’s how.
1. Proper preparation
Before you reach for the blow dryer, wash your hair with a volume shampoo. Once they are towel dry, work in some mousse. This gives more body and grip and keeps the hairstyle in shape for longer. Certain products also contain heat protection. If this is not the case, use a heat protection spray as well.

2. Blow dry upside down
Once the hair has been pre-treated, it’s time to blow-dry. For a quick and voluminous result, it is best to dry your hair upside down. This has the advantage that the blow-dry air first reaches the deeper strands, making the hairstyle more steady.
3. Use a round brush
If you have more time available, blow-dry your hair with a round brush. To do this, divide it into several strands, which you pull one after the other from the roots to the tips over the round brush. At the same time, direct the airflow of the hair dryer, which is equipped with a narrow styling nozzle, to the hair. It’s best to start at the bottom of the hairline and work your way up to the top of your head. Finally, shake dry hair upside down and do not comb through it again.
4. Blanching
A newer method that also promises voluminous hair is so-called blanching. Similar to the cooking technique of the same name, the hair is treated alternately with warm and cold water. Here’s how it works: First, blow dry the roots lightly. Then divide small sections of hair and carefully drip warm water onto the roots. You can then immediately fix the wet spots with the cold setting of the hair dryer.
5. Maintain volume
Once the hair has been blow-dried, it is important to maintain the volume for as long as possible. The best way to do this is with a hairspray. Dry shampoo also protects against flat hair. Simply spray onto the hairline and lengths, massage in gently and brush out any powder residue.
